Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) launched a new campaign at the beginning of Lent. “Martyrs of our days: witnesses of hope” is a call to show solidarity with persecuted Christians around the world. Inspired by Pope Francis’ invitation to celebrate a Jubilee of Hope, this campaign aims to highlight the fact that, despite the persecution they suffer, today’s martyrs continue to be examples of consolation, faith and hope.

In this video, ACN homes in on the rampant anti-Christian persecution in Nigeria, a country where 76 clergy and religious have been kidnapped or murdered since 2022, which accounts for the highest number of Christians killed in a single country on the continent.
